The zoo entrance becomes a mediator between the city and wildlife. Its identity refers to the blue whistling thrush, a rare Tien Shan bird that has adapted to Almaty's human-shaped landscape.
The building combines the entrance, educational uses, and a green roof. Rather than creating a single object, the proposal forms a transitional environment in which architecture gradually gives way to landscape.
The concept also draws attention to a concealed underground mountain stream and the potential to restore local habitats. Wayfinding continues the ecological narrative and helps visitors read the territory as a connected system.
