Here a River Once Flowed…
Landscape · Ecology · Research

Hills, ravines, forest, water, and long northern light form a park where recreation is no longer passive. Fireweed, the first plant to return to burnt ground, establishes a theme of recovery and inner strength.
The project's physical layer is inspired by the wheel of life, while its imaginative layer draws on Russian folk tales. Their intersection allows one place to support sport, play, contemplation, festivals, or solitude.
A thin red wayfinding line leads through the route like a magic thread. The first phase introduces the primary path and all-season warm pockets; the territory then continues to evolve with the local community.
