Here a River Once Flowed…
Landscape · Ecology · Research

The lake system and migratory bird routes become the basis for a new Kostanay identity. Nine public spaces connect the city's ecological framework with the everyday life of its neighbourhoods.
Each square receives its own bird species, pattern of movement, social function, and formal language. Together they form not a series of identical objects, but a distributed urban route.
The concept combines public realm design, wayfinding, educational scenarios, and a future birdwatching park. Phased implementation allows the city to strengthen its green connections and identity over time.
